After receiving her bachelor’s degree in business, with a concentration in human resources, Michelle realized that her passion was working with children. She returned to school to become a teacher, obtaining a Masters degree and certification in education through the University of New Haven. Michelle then taught elementary school for over ten years in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Locally, she taught at the Boston Renaissance Charter School in Boston, and Claypit Hill Elementary School in Wayland. She is Orton Gillingham certified, and has training in Project Read and Wilson Reading. When her oldest child was two, Michelle took some time to be home with her family. From 2009 – 2014, Michelle was a Sudbury Cooperative Preschool parent as two of her children made their way through the school. Michelle loved the Co-op’s focus on child-directed learning, and became very involved at the preschool as a classroom helper, substitute teacher, and board member. Michelle eventually took on a permanent position as a Stay & Play teacher, a role she held just prior to becoming Director. Michelle lives in Sudbury with her husband and three school-aged children.
